Summer Squad is open to current post-secondary students, recent graduates, and career changers who are interested in starting a career in marketing. Applicants from historically underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Application Process & Timing

All applicants will be asked to complete an online application and questionnaire. Due to the high volume of applicants, we thank everyone for their interest but only those candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.

This program requires a commitment to a 4-month long contract from (May to August 2023), with the opportunity for a contract extension through fall 2023.

Deadlines and timing are as follows:

FAQ

What if I fall in love with this place...is there an opportunity to be hired full-time after the contract ends?
Yes! For high-performing Summer Squad team members, there is a strong possibility of a contract extension or offer of full-time employment at Salt.
I want the experience, but I’ve also got bills to pay – are these paid internships?
Yes!
Who is eligible to join the Summer Squad?
The Summer Squad program is open to current post-secondary students, recent graduates, and career changers who are interested in starting a career in marketing. Candidates must be able to commit to a full-time opportunity between May and August 2023, unless otherwise stated.

Do I have to be in Toronto or can I work from anywhere?
Unless otherwise stated, the Summer Squad opportunities are based in Toronto. At Salt, we work in a hybrid model, working 2-3 days from the office. For Accounts Team members, your role may also require travel to different cities throughout the summer.
Do I need to include a portfolio?
If you are applying for a creative role, we ask that you please include a link to your portfolio. This can be a link to a website, or simply a document that showcases your creative work.
Is the Summer Squad Program an accredited internship program requirement?
This program could be recognized as an accredited internship program, depending on your program’s specific requirements. During the interview process, we welcome any questions you may have on this topic.
I’m interested in more than one team. Can I apply for multiple positions?
Yes, you can apply for more than one position although we do recommend keeping it to a maximum of two. Based on your qualifications, you may also be considered for a role that you did not directly apply for.
Will I be fetching coffee and making copies all day?
No, at SALT, you’ll have the opportunity to work hands-on on real projects and gain experience and feedback. We all get our own coffee around here!
Are Summer Squad roles part-time hours or full-time hours?
These roles are contract full-time positions. Team members can expect to work roughly 40 hrs. a week between 9 AM to 5 PM. The working schedule for XM team members may vary slightly to include work on occasional evenings and weekends, depending on the activation schedule.
